NAME THIS NEWSLETTER

Happy Sabbath!   Welcome to our first issue of our local church newsletter.
Our goal for our newsletter is to have lots of fun, we, the social committee, hopes that all will participate by entering our contest: which is naming this letter.   So far there have been 3 names given and we hope to receive more soon!   For the name that is picked, that person will receive a surprise! Also, if you would like to submit absolutely anything feel free to hand into one of the social committee members (Heidi, Nicole, Daryl, Beth, Elizabeth, Audrey, or Penny). It is hoped that this will be a monthly letter that is enjoyed and read by all.

Good-Bye September!

Just a note to let everyone know that
our "Movie Night" was a lot of fun.    In case you missed the announcement, it was held in the fellowship room at the church on Saturday, September 26th @ 7:00 pm.      We munched on popcorn, chips, and drank a lot of juice!!   Thumbs up to Heidi for picking an excellent movie.    "A man Called Norman" was a touching film that moved you to laughter and tears.    It really caused you to think about what we can do as Christians to make the world a nicer place for those less fortunate than we are.
In closing I'd like to say that it was great spending time with fellow Christians and I look forward to many more evenings like this.

Guess Who?   There's a big secret going around these days!   Some say it's a real
mystery, but the truth is, it's a lot of fun.
Here's a clue.   On September 12th, our
secret pal club officially began, and many
have received gifts and letters.   I hope that you are all enjoying it as much as I am.

A word from Pastor Mike!

Dear Church Family.
Thank you for producing this newsletter.   I think it's a great idea.   It should help everybody stay up to date with how the Lord is blessing the various church members.   Good stuff.   Keep it up.   And don't forget to send me a copy.  I really miss not being able to see you guys on a regular basis.   I've been suffering symptoms similar to drug withdrawals, so maybe this Newsletter can help smooth my recovery, you know, like a daily fix. Ha!
I've been very busy writing Bible studies. Just recently I completed a study on the "Man of Romans Seven"which deals with the warfare between sinful flesh and the mind of the new man, and how we can be more than conquerors through Christ and Him crucified.    I've also completed a study on "Drinking the Cup of Trembling" which illustrates the similarities between the closing scenes of Christ's life and the closing scenes of Earth's history.    Both are very
fascinating and rewarding to read.    If
you'd like a copy just let me know: hocvmc@juno.com
I'm involved in the local church helping out in Sabbath School.    I'm teaching the Young Adult class.    Also, I'm helping organize social outings and get togethers. They were impressed when I told them about our social successes.    How about that! Trendy California is copying us.  Ha!
Well, that about wraps it up.    But hey, thank you for praying for Judy and I.
It's making a huge difference, big time. Thanx!    Let's keep our eyes on Jesus, Pastor Mike

     Thanksgiving Agape Feast on
October 9th @ 7:00 pm.    All are welcome to join us.    The feast will consist of bread, jam, peanut butter, honey and fruit. We are asking that everyone participate in bringing something, please contact a member of the social committee so we know amount of food and people to expect.    Pastor Jun will be helping.       We will also do some spiritually uplifting activities to rejuvenate not only our friendships with each other but also with God.

There is a suggestion box in the foyer of the church (one with pink lid), the committee is asking that we hear from our church members so that we can help serve you, the church members, in providing activities that you enjoy.    Please help support us, by giving your suggestions.

Prayer requests:

Remember to keep our church and church members in your prayers.
Pray for those who are being affected by Hurricane George.

Remember our Pastor and wife, that God will provide.

Thank You, Lord!

Thank you Lord, for every blessing Though disguised they often are,
Thanks for guiding through the valley That we might behold Thy star;

Thanks for sunshine and for shadow, Thanks for pleasure and for rain,
Thanks, oh Lord for every blessing
Thou dost give, and give again.

Thank you, Lord, for home and loved ones,
Or if we must walk alone,
Thanks for promises, so precious
Thou wilt never leave Thine own.

Praise for food, or lack, we give Thee, Praise Whatever befall us here,
For Thy blessed Word assures us OF THY PRESENCE, ever near.

Thank you, Lord, for daily leading
In this world of sin and woe,
Thanks for armor Thou providest
For the battle with the foe.

Thank you for the wondrous promise THOUARTCOMING SOON AGAIN, Joyfully Thy church to gather EVERMORE with Thee to reign.

*Thank you Sharon for contributing your inspirational booklet of poems.

RECIPE! RECIPE! RECIPE!

2 cups grated zucchini
2 eggs
3/4 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup cheddar cheese (grated)
1/2 cup mozza cheese (grated)
1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
3 T chopped onions
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. rosemary
1 T margarine
Form into patties and fry up immediately because if left ingredients get too juicy from zucchini.    Can eat plain or pour tomato soup or mushroom soup over patties. Makes 4 servings.

Have a Happy Sabbath, keep Christ #1 in your life, if you let Him lead everything else will fall into place.    Remember that God does not give us anything that we cannot handle and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.    Have a good week and a happy heart.
