The BibleWe Believe that the entire Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the only standard and guide for living a Christian life, and that it is the infallible revelation of God's will for all of mankind. It provides to all humanity the knowledge necessary for salvation. The GodheadWe Believe that there is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal Persons. They are one in character and purpose. God the SonWe Believe that God the Eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. And that through Him all things were created, the character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity accomplished, and the world is judged. God the Holy SpiritWe Believe that the Holy Spirit is the member of the Godhead Who draws men and women to Christ and convicts of sin which leads to repentance. He is the One who moves us to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. CreationWe Believe that God is the Creator of all things, and has revealed in Scripture the authentic account of His creative activity. In six days the Lord made "the heaven and the earth" and all living things upon the earth, and rested on the seventh day of that very first week. Thus He established the Sabbath, by making it holy and blessing it, as a perpetual memorial of His completed creative work. Man and SalvationWe Believe that man was created in the image of God and was perfect until he sinned. Since that time, the only way for man to be saved is through the life and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ upon the cross. Love's ResponseWe Believe that acceptance of His salvation leads to loving and willing obedience, which is faith in action. BaptismWe Believe that baptism is an outward symbol of dying to self and accepting His righteousness. In Christ we become new creatures. A Great ControversyWe Believe that the Scriptures portray a battle between good and evil -- God and Satan. To assist His people in this conflict, God sends the Holy Spirit and His angels to guide, protect, and sustain them in the way of salvation. Christ, Our MediatorWe Believe that Christ, as our High priest, ministers in the heavenly sanctuary for us as our Mediator. HealthWe Believe that God's Word reveals the most healthful way to live so that we might be able to give our best in service to Him. Our bodies, as the Apostle Paul reminds us, are the temples of the Holy Spirit, which we are called upon to care for intelligently. Spiritual GiftsWe Believe that the spiritual gifts which the apostle Paul mentions are active in the Church and are provided by the Holy Spirit for service. MissionWe Believe that Christ gave a mission to the church when He commissioned His disciples to take the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ to the whole world. We Believe that this calls upon His followers to work as He worked, not only through preaching, but also through healing ministries. As a result of this belief, volunteers and employees serve people at home and in most of the countries of the world through hospitals and clinics; through the Adventist Development and Relief Agency International (ADRA), which provides basic needs such as water, food, clothing, and medical care to the world's people and communities in need. Living the Christ-like life is part of that mission. FamilyWe Believe that marriage and family have been God's plan from the time of creation. Marriage, as designed by God, between a man and a woman, is a sacred institution, which God desires to bring happiness and joy to mankind. Family is to be a little bit of heaven on earth. It is His desire that marriage be until death brings separation. Christian parents have a great and wonderful responsibility to raise their children to love and serve God. In order to aid in this process, the Church operates church schools around the globe, as well as Sabbath Schools each Saturday. Death and ResurrectionWe Believe just as Jesus did that death is a sleep, where man remains in an unconcious state until the resurrection morning. Throughout scripture the hope of the one who faces death, is the resurrection. Death is the enemy which is the result of sin. Only at the resurrection does this mortal take on immortality. Second ComingWe Believe that the blessed hope, as spoken of by the Apostle Paul, is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ which the Apostle John prayed might be very soon! At His coming, which will be the grand climax of the gospel, the Savior will come in a literal, personal, and visible way. Every eye will see Him. Jesus Himself gave signs of His Second Coming, which point to His soon return. At Home With JesusWe Believe that eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of mankind, the things which the Lord has prepared for those who love Him. Isaiah and John paint a partial picture of what the new heavens and new earth are going to be like, but we can be assured that it will be so much more than we could ever imagine. But most importantly we will be together with the One, Jesus Christ, who has made it all possible. In fact it is His free gift to all those who love Him and accept Him as Savior and Lord of their lives. |
