Powering Up Young People

Deirdre and Allan Martin are young adults with a vision to nurture and empower young people in Christian lifestyle and ministry. They see Generation X holding spiritual gifts like "power tools." All it takes is committed someones to get Xers plugged into the power source, showing them that "they've got skills." So Deirdre and Allan have started dre.am VISION ministries (dVm), believing that "where there is vision, the young people flourish."

dVm offers leaders and their youth/young adult groups over a decade of youth/young adult ministry expertise in:

DRAMA: A creative and poignant means to convey the gospel, dramatic arts have proven to be a clear avenue of communication to young people. Moreover, drama is one of those spiritual "power tools" that many Xers possess. Deirdre and Allan have toured throughout the North American Division performing drama and teaching workshops to young audiences. Graduated members of the Destiny Drama Company, they have a keen sense of portraying the power, pertinence, and personality of Christ through Christian theatrics.

RESOURCE: dVm looks to develop relational skills in youth leaders and Xers, empowering them to positively impact their peers and their world. dVm offers workshops and seminars in a variety of relationship arenas including: Peer Counseling, Group Dynamics, Intimacy, Positive Peer Impact, Small Group Ministry, and Inside Youth Culture. In addition, dVm serves as a clearing house of talented professionals, artists, performers, speakers, and musicians who are especially keen on X culture and dedicated towards quality ministry. dVm serves as a network-help to get you "hooked up" with these resources.

CROSS-CULTURAL & CROSS-GENERATIONAL DIALOGUE: Self-perpetuated segregation lines pervade our world and have a devastating impact on authentic Christian ministry and lifestyle. dVm serves as a resource in efforts to breakdown these barriers, to foster productive interaction, and to explore ways to nurture interdependent community. This is part of dVm's never-ending battle against racism, ageism, and sexism.

INTERACTIVE COMMUNICATION: Speaking for youth events, performing for young adult retreats, or leading group ice breaker games, dVm strives to motivate and inspire young and older alike to "dream the dreams and envision the visions" (Acts 2:17,18). dVm is keen to fitting into your theme idea or work with you to develop one. For spiritual challenges and motivational leadership talks, dVm specializes in interactive, experiential communication that will have your youth and young adults coming away wanting to "do something." More than just a good talk, dVm is committed to making a difference.
