In God’s House cont...

Another area we can be careful of is the care of church. Wiping our shoes well before entering will help keep it clean. Also the children could be taught to keep their shoes off the pews and the pews in front of them. Caution them when using crayons or pencils. Markers and pens are not a good idea.

“Many need instruction as to how they should appear in the assembly for worship on the Sabbath. They are not to enter the presence of God in the common clothing worn during the week. All should have a special Sabbath suit, to be worn when attending service in God's house. While we should not conform to worldly fashions, we are not to be indifferent in regard to our outward appearance. We are to be neat and trim, though without adornment. The children of God should be pure within and without.” CG 531

As we worship together, let us ever be seeking for higher ground. God Bless you all.

Brothers and sisters,

What do you do when you learn new truth or re-learn old truths that have been forgotten?  Do you kick and scream and rebel or do you let the Holy Spirit work in your life?  The above   counsel has convicted me of some things that I personally need to change.  As your pastor I would also like to apologize for the times my example has not been what it should be.  By God’s grace I am going to make some changes and I hope that you allow God to search the innermost recesses of your life.  A few Biblical examples come to my mind of people’s responses when they learned or re-learned principles of truth.

As Paul was teaching in Ephesus many people who had been involved in witchcraft and magic were deeply impressed by the words Paul spoke and “Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men… Acts 19:19

And what about the Jews who heard Peter preaching at Pentecost?  They heard the beautiful Gospel message of Jesus and when their “hearts were pricked” they instantly asked what they needed to do.  Do we do the same?

Let us be instantaneous in our obedience to God, even in the little things of life.  Let us press upward and onward “till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ”  Ephesians 4:14.
