ADVENTIST YOUTH SYDNEY BOUND

Stefan MeLaughlin an 11 year-old member of the Bodden Town Seventh-day Adventist church recently won first place in the Visa Olympics of the Imagination Youth Art Competition and won a trip to this year's Olympics in Sydney, Australia in September.  Recently Visa International and Cayman National bank announced the winners in the competition, which attracted more than 120 entries.

Mr. Peter Smith, Governor, Cayman Islands was among the dignitaries on hand at CNB's Elgin Avenue building for the winner reception.

School children between the ages of 9 and 13 had been challenged to use their imagination to create an original piece of art to represent what the Olympic motto of "faster, higher, stronger" meant to them.

Stefan took first place and will now be guest of Visa in Australia from September 14 to 19, along with 30 other children from else where in the world.

Whilst at the XXVII Olympiad Stefan will attend a number of Olympic events and take part in Australian activities.

In addition, the artwork will be displayed on screen savers, postcards and other materials as well as in exhibits.
