ADMINISTRATION


Pastor Jeffrey K. Thompson is a native of New Providence in the Bahamas and received his formative education at Aquinas College on that island. He studied at West Indies College and received a Bachelor of Arts in Theology, and received a Master of Arts in Church History from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

Pastor Thompson currently serves as the President of the Cayman Islands Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, and has also see service as Communications Director of the Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and District Pastor in Grants Town, Johnson Park, South Andros, Exuman, and Turks and Caicos Islands Mission.

He pioneered two church publications, the Bahamas Conference LOGOS, and the Cayman Islands Mission ECHO, and the author of two books, Exuma Historical Guide and The Rise of the Adventist Church in the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands.

His evangelistic accomplishments are noteworthy and he has raised up two new congregations, one in Nassau Bahamas, the other in Cayman Brac. Pastor Thompson has produced and narrated several television documentaries and multimedia presentations for the Adventist Church.

In addition, under his leadership the Cayman Adventist Television Network (CATN) was established in 1996. The station is on the air 24 hours daily.

He is Married to the former Denise Pople of the Bahamas and they have three children, Kevin, De'Angelo and Jewel.

Pastor Wilton George McDonald was born in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica. In the year of 1963, he entered West Indies College (WIC) where his horizons were expanded vocationally, socially, and academically.

He left West Indies College in 1970 completing an associate degree in Business and the FCBI of London (Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Book-Keepers).

He commenced work shorty afterwards , in the Bahamas Conference as Treasurer for the local academy.

In 1979 Pastor McDonald accepted a call to serve as Treasurer of the Cayman Islands Mission of Seventh-day Adventists. It was in the Cayman Islands the he had the opportunity to fully pastor a church. In 1984 he was ordained to the gospel ministry.

In November 1994, Pastor McDonald completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at the International College of the Cayman Islands, and commenced study on his Master of Science degree in Human Resources.

Besides serving as Mission Treasurer and Internal Auditor, Pastor McDonald functions as the Executive Secretary of the Mission (a post which he has held for the past eight (8) years), he manages the Adventist Book Center, and the department of Trust and also pastors the North Side Church.

Mrs. Sheila Woods, Chief Accountant, was unanimously elected to serve as the new Treasurer for Cayman Islands Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, during the Fourth Quinquennial Session of West Indies Union held in Mandeville, Jamaica on October 13, 2000.  Mrs. Woods, who is now the third ranking officer for the Adventist Church in the Cayman Islands, succeeded Pastor Wilton G. McDonald

  Mrs. Woods graduated from Cayman Academy (formerly Edmer Seventh-day Adventist School) in 1973 and then from the Cayman Islands High School in 1970.  From there, she left Grand Cayman to attend Northern Caribbean University (formerly West Indies College) to study Secretarial Science.  In 1981, she completed the school requirements graduating with a Diploma.  In December 1997, she graduated with distinction from the International College of the Cayman Islands with an Associate degree in Accounting.  She was awarded the AALL Trust Award for being the Caymanian with the highest GPA (4.0).  Presently, she is in the final stage of completing a Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

Mrs. Woods first appointment with the Mission was as a secretary in 1981.  She later filled the post of Accountant for Cayman Islands Mission and Edmer SDA School during the years 1983-1989.  In 1990, she was promoted to Chief Accountant and has served her duties faithfully.

Mrs. Woods has been an active member of the Bodden Town Seventh-day Adventist Church and has served as treasurer, church pianist, Adventist Youth Leader, Sabbath School Superintendent and Sabbath School Lower Division Leader, to name a few.  She was elected to serve as the first Secretary/Treasurer for Adventist-Laymen’s Services & Industries in 1999.

Mrs. Woods has enjoyed 19 years of formal service for the Seventh-day Adventist Church.  She is the first child of Alvin & Evelee Powell.  Apart from her busy schedule of activities and study, she is a devoted wife and mother.  She is married to Mr. Joseph Woods, Jr. who is an Inspector with the Royal Cayman Islands Police.  They have three beautiful children, Kristy, Joseph III, and their newborn, Johnathan.  She enjoys reading, cooking, baking, and loves to witness by sending devotional e-mails.
