Rain falling gently down
       Freezing then slowly building up.
Trees clicking in their ice jackets
       Until they bow and break.

       Wires stretching longer and longer
       Until they finally snap,
And the power and phone calls
       Spill out on the ground.

       People, normally indifferent, as
       Unwilling talk to strangers,
       Now chatter together because
They all have "The Ice Storm" in common.
