Life is strange-is beautiful
And a nightmare rolled in one.
          We are born-we live-grow old
And then our life is done.

          A few things we remember
A trip with Dad in the evening snow,
The farm-the chores and Mother's bread
So good when the cold wind blows.

          We marry-move away
          But leave some heart behind
Oh lucky us who can return
          And let our lives unwind!

The birth of children, raising them,
A boy, a girl, another boy.
          Heartache and pleasures are rewards
          And a mother's greatest joy.
