The red glow of sunset fades from the horizon
As the shadows of night time close in.
I think of my Father at home in His Heaven
And the delight, eternal, in Him.
Remembering that His eyes mark each falling sparrow,
I thank Him for His care of me.
And as I review the events of the day
His faithfulness, always, I see:

For after the rainstorm that flooded the meadow,
A rainbow appeared in the sky.
A letter from home that I found in my mailbox
Brought news that, for joy, made me cry.
And just when the brakes failed, I reached my own driveway-
He'd brought me home safely, you see.
Time after time, just when I needed most,
That blessing He poured out on me.

I do not expect He will grant all my wishes;
Those things I leave in His control.
I'll know pain and sorrow, but this is my comfort-
What matters is He'll save my soul.
And when my time comes, be it sooner or later,
I trust Him with my destiny;
Whatever His plan for my life, I'm content
To serve 'til He's finished with me.

Matthew 10:28-32   16:24-26
