Temperance -- Cancer Awareness

With April being Cancer Awareness Month, our Health & Temperance department took this opportunity to share with other church members an article entitled Cancer, written by John A. Scharffenberg, M.D., featured in The Journal of Health & Healing, volume 18, number 3.

The article was very informative and pointed out that emerging as probably the most significant new risk factor found to be associated with getting cancer is diet. The author goes on the compare a vegetarian versus a non-vegetarian diet, demonstrating that meat contains many of the possible factors of cancer. This article clearly illustrates the advantages of a plant-based diet, and emphasizes the original diet that God gave to man is obviously the best diet possible.
