The PANCAP/CYA Mini-grant program is a collaborative effort between two Caribbean Community (CARCOM) Agencies: The Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS PANCAP and the Caribbean Youth Ambassaors (CYA). It was launched October 2005 in a strategic move by CARICOM to enable youth to facilitate community-based programs HIV/AIDS prevention programs. The initiative targets youth between the ages of 15 and 29. The Bahamas was one of eight countries selected to receive a grant. The Pathfinder Organization was asked to participate in the project. Estelle Gibson, Royann Young and Alexandria Scott participated in various phases of the program, but the proposal was the brain child of Natasha Ruffin. Natasha is a Masterguide who, since accepting the Advent message, has had a passion for the salvation of others. She completed the AIDS honor and has served as an instructor in this area. She is a volunteer at the AIDS Secretariat and a student at the College of the Bahamas.
