PRAYING FOR OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN The following prayer is taken from the book Prayers that
Prevail for Your Children by Clift Richards and Lloyd Hildebrand, 1994,
Victory House, Inc. Key Thought: Key Scriptures: Prayer: You, Lord, are the vine. I pray that the life ______________ will always be a branch in your vine. May his/her life always stem from you. Graft him/her into your vine, and prune his/her life of all things that do not lead to growth and fruitfulness. (Jn 15:1,2) May my son/daughter realize early, Lord, that apart from you, he/she can accomplish nothing, (Jn 15:5) but through you, he/she can do all things. (Phil. 4:13) I pray that he/she will always endeavour to obey your command to love others (Jn 15:12) and experience abiding in your love (Jn 15:10). Thank you, Father, for being a refuge and fortress for ________________. May he/she ever trust in you as he/she abides under your shadow and dwells in the secret place of your presence. (Ps. 91:1) Thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to _______________; may He ever abide with him/her. (Jn 14:16) Show my child the secret of abiding in your great love, O Father. (1 Jn 3:24) I pray that _________________ will always remember that you have bought him /her with a tremendous price, and that it is his/her responsibility to serve you first, before others. (1 Cor. 7:23) Thank you for calling him/her. Impart to him/her the anointing of your Holy Spirit. I pray, O Lord, that that same anointing would abide in him/her, teaching him/her your will, your ways and your truth. Because of your abiding presence in the life of _________________, he/she will have no reason to be ashamed at your coming. (1 Jn 2:27, 28)
