"Since we find ourselves

parts of Christ's body, let's just go ahead and be what we were made to

Angel Co-Op Newsletter
Dear Sister,
Yes, what you heard,
or maybe read on the Internet, is true. Saskatchewan did have the
coldest temperature in the world last week. One of our northern uranium
mining camps, Key Lake, registered something like -60 degrees Celsius
with a wind-chill taken into account. We are experiencing a balmy -25C
today, with the prospect of another couple of days in the deep freeze
(-30C on Monday and Tuesday). Many of you have no way to conceive of
this kind of cold. We do our best to keep warm and most of us limit our
travel time. Friday and early Saturday saw snow storms that made
highway driving treacherous and clogged our city streets. Every year at
this time I ask, "And exactly why are we living here again?"
A couple of dear
young women (one of them being Megan) had potentially fatal car
accidents over the recent cold spell. Megan slid into the back of a tow
truck and had her front window smashed by the heavy apparatus that
dangles behind the truck (the tow hook?). Another young woman I know
(Rebecca) had her small car sucked under a semi when she braked on ice.
She thought for sure she was dead, waited for the unconsciousness to
happen, and marveled when it didn't. She told me in an email, "Wow, I
always believed in science and intellect, but science and intellect
can't explain this for me." Praise God!
Women in Ministry: What
are you up to?
Joelle Duchesne
has begun a health ministry involving weight loss
in her Church community. Read about it in her January 18th column by
clicking on "Just Joelle".
Bonnie Wilde has this to
report about her mission to bring success to those with reading lag:
My ministry in
reading improvement lessons extends itself to those who cannot afford
lessons. Dyslexic sufferers are profoundly low in self-esteem and they
must succeed at all costs. This fall and winter season has been rife
with those who have no money but desperately need help. I took them all
on and got a surprise from one of them. I was especially humbled
when one of the teenaged girls heard me tell her that I really wanted
her to set a goal for learning to type properly on a keyboard (she is a
budding writer). She was distressed by this because she was an absolute
beginner. Anyway, after a few sessions on my computer at home, she
persisted on her own computer at home. Then, last week she sent two
painted pictures she had done through her mother. She sent them to
encourage me to get started painting again. I was overwhelmed that this
girl would even care about my over-worked, underhobbied life. When she
came for her next lesson, I told her how much it had meant to me to
receive inspiration to paint. She smiled broadly and said that she had
just met her own personal goals that week. And what were they, I
asked? She said that she had wanted to spend 30 minutes keyboarding and
that she had wanted to inspire me to get painting again. I was so
happy that I found myself telling her what I would do to get my artwork
going by the next time she came to see me. Somehow, I must get this
"homework" done! She has to see an example of goal-setting. Anyway,
WHO SAYS THAT I GIVE FREE LESSONS? This girl paid me more than I could
ever have asked. She gave me the desire and kick in the pants to get
going in art again. I can't thank her enough!

And yes, we are
still waiting to hear from you about your experiences in serving God--
that's what Angel Co-op is about, right? Would someone with a musical
gift like to share about how you have been blessed by serving in this
arena?
