You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Isaiah 55:12

Dear Sisters, Howdy! Are you celebrating Father's Day in your family today? We might each want to start the day with a special time with our Father God who will never break promises, disappoint, deprive, neglect, or abuse us. He so loves us that He sent us Jesus to show us the way to that perfect Family Reunion in Heaven. If you have a man or a son who is interested in what resources there are to support responsible, caring fatherhood on the Web, you might want to refer him to the National Fatherhood Project at http://www.fatherhoodproject.org/ CAMP MEETINGS are being planned and prepared for again. Elder Ken Wiebe, the President of the ManSask Conference, shared some interesting information about Camp Meetings in the latest edition of the Prairie Horizons. The first camp meetings started among the Presbyterians in Kentucky in the early 1800s. James and Ellen White participated in the Millerite camp meetings of 184-1844, and the official Seventh-day Adventist camp meetings began in 1868. Canada's first camp meeting was in Quebec in 1886, and the first one in the West, was on the banks of the Red River near Winnipeg in July of 1897. I was raised Catholic. My first SDA Camp Meeting in 1993 was a thrilling experience and I gave my heart to the Lord when the final night's speaker Dick Duerksen made an altar call. Actually, I yelled out my intention, and that can be heard on the cassette tape of that evening's talk. I remember turning up for at least 7 days in a row to do a health seminar with Hans Diehl. It was a grand and spiritually uplifting time. Last year we took my daughter-friend and her three children with us. Ed went home and left us there to fend together. The children had a fabulous time, but I, big chicken, chose to sleep in the car when I heard rumours of a wandering bear, a cougar's yowl, a ferocious male raccoon that hung out at the washroom building, and spiders, etc. This year I have rented us a tent trailer. It has soft sides, but somehow the idea of being on wheels is more secure-making for me? I'm sure it will be more comfortable than the car! When I was at B.C.'s Camp Hope meeting a couple of years ago I was impressed by their Women's Ministries tent and displays. Does anyone else's WM do something like this at Camp Meeting? Megan has included the calendar dates for Canadian camp meetings on our site. You will find out about what speakers are expected by going to your individual Conference sites. Here are a few tips from FWs about insect bite precautions at Camp Meeting:
