WOMAN OF FAITH

U.S. Fighter Squadron Captain "Thumper", one of only a handful of female pilots participating in the war in Iraq, says her call sign is a reflection of her faith, and the fact that she is considered a "Bible Thumper".

The F-16 pilot with the 524th Fighter Squadron from Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., told KnoxNews recently that she reads her Bible daily, and that she prays before each flight for her squadron's safe return.

KnoxNews quoted Thumper as saying, "I have a lot of faith in God that he'll protect me...and will protect the guys in the squadron"
