Currently, Adventist Adoption and Family Service is in need of families interested in adopting older children. We have received requests from birth parents who would like to place their older child with a Seventh-day Adventist family. If you are interested, please contact us for more information.

Adventist Adoption and Family Services is an adoption agency licensed in Oregon, Washington, Connecticut and New York. We are a non-profit agency with competitive services. There is a live-person answering service available 24 hours a day who is able to page the social worker on call for birth parent support at any time. Our agency is able to counsel birth parents, perform homestudies, prepare court reports, match children and families, and provide required supervision visits and support until finalization. The caseworkers are available for crisis management and on-going support to help families and birth parents through the adoption process and finalization of the adoptions. Though the number of infants available for adoption has steadily decreased over the years, our agency does place several infants a year with adoptive families. In addition, thousands of children wait in the State systems across
the country for families.
Though Adventist Adoption and Family Services does not arrange for international adoptions, we do provide required homestudies for Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) and the post-placement services required by law and by the sending country. We contract with several international agencies to help work with families who would like to pursue an international adoption in a wide variety of countries. (Please see our International Adoption Program page for more information.)

We now offer an on-line preliminary application form. (I would like to apply now.) If you do not wish to apply at this time, you may e-mail, mail or phone us your name(s), address and telephone number at a later time, as well as what type of child you are hoping to adopt and we will mail you the preliminary application form.
After we receive your preliminary application, it will be screened through our caseworkers and a formal application packet will be mailed to you. There is a $125.00 non-refundable application fee due before we can process your formal application. Once we have received all of the necessary documentation about your family, a caseworker will be assigned to you and an appointment will be made to begin the homestudy.
