This is a forbidden area. You are reading this because you disobeyed.
You're not the first one to do this.
A lady called Eve did it once. Remember the Garden of Eden?
She was in bliss, and I mean total bliss.
But she blew it.
God had said, "All this bliss is yours. Except the bit over there. You can't eat fruit from that tree." (Genesis 2:16-17)
Now you know what happened to Eve, don't you? She ate that fruit -- and we're all suffering today as a result.
So what's this got to do with you?
Plenty. The very fact that you're reading this page shows that you're a lot like Eve.
Even though this area is forbidden, and even though there's a huge amount of other stuff on this website, you've come here.
That should be a worry to you.
You see, when construction workers put up "Do not enter" signs, they do it for your own good. It's so you won't fall in some hole and kill yourself.
Now if the signs that humans put up are for your good, how much better for you are signs that God puts up?
There's a whole range of things God doesn't want you to experiment with. And He has good reasons.
If you eat that forbidden fruit, it will damage you. And it could damage a lot of other people too.
For example, it could damage your kids.
You say, "I don't have any kids."
Oh yes you do. They just haven't been born yet.
And if you smoke, or use marijuana, you could do terrible damage those beaut kids that don't even exist.
Even worse, are you ignoring the warning sign God put up about breaking the Sabbath? That could damage your kids too.
"How could ignoring the Sabbath damage my kids?" you ask.
Easy! The Sabbath is special time for us to develop a saving relationship with God. If you're not the one who passes on to this saving relationship to your kids, where will they get it from? They'll probably die forever. And that's even worse damage to those kids who don't exist than the damage from drugs.
Lucky for us, there's enough warning signs. About sex before marriage. About getting screwed up by hating people. About having substitutes for God. About wanting other people's things. About taking something that's not yours. About screwing your brain by telling lies.
Sound familiar? Yep, they are warning signs from the Ten Commandments themselves. (Exodus 20:3-17)
Why do you think God gave us the Ten Commandments?
Because they are warning signs to stop us falling into incredibly big holes.
Sure, you can't see the hole. But that's why the warning sign is there.
You've got to trust God that he had a good reason to put up these warning signs.
In religious terms, this trust is called faith. We are saved forever by faith.
Obeying God takes faith. He's said something that may not seem logical. You've got to trust that it is logical.
And if you believe him, you'll be saved.
Pay attention to God's warning signs. Pay lots of attention. They are there for your own good.
Now! We've got that straight, haven't we?
So use your web browser's "back" button to go back to the page you came from.
And I hope we don't see you in this forbidden area again.
