Note: Leaven (yeast) represents sin. Even bread used
for Jewish offerings was to be unleavened (Ex 23:18;
Lev 23:17). This was probably to symbolise that Christ,
the ultimate sacrifice, was without sin.
Note: In Biblical languages, the normal word used for
fresh grape juice was also used for fermented grape
juice. However, the term used here is less ambiguous.
"Fruit of the vine," suggests freshness, that is:
unfermented grape juice.
Isaiah 65:8 refers to "new wine ... found in the
cluster," (KJV) which is obviously unfermented.
