Baptism in the Bible

    The Greek word "baptism" means "immerse," so baptism is being completely immersed under water. The steps of going under the water and coming back up symbolise our old self being buried and then rising to a new life.

  3. Are there any instances in the New Testament of a baby being baptised? Answer: No!


  4. Where was Jesus baptised? Matthew 3:13, 16.


    Note: Jesus was in the River Jordan itself. He was submerged under the water, and came up out of the water.
