G'day. I live 200km north of Brisbane,
Australia on my five acre property. I go down to the coast to the now famous
Coolum Beach church whenever I'm home. I am a physiotherapist pursuing
more gentle therapies -- at the moment exploring Orthobionomy (noting dysfunction
and inviting healing through body movement). I'm also a pianist and piano
teacher, preparing for another diploma this year. My passion is Jesus'
grace and power, which He has poured on me in increasing amounts over the
last twelve months. I'd like to talk to others interested in or living
in Christian community along the lines of the new believers in Acts. I
imagine that our 'western' cultural bias has ill prepared us for true communal
living and that maybe a workable model would be more like a well connected
village setup. My other deep interest is in live theatre playing back people's
stories on the spot. This can build a deep sense of commonality and belonging
-- and brings people close to the spiritual realm when the stories are
played back by spiritually aware players. Anyone doing it in a Christian

I attend an art school in the city where I am studying Multimedia. I'm
single and I like music, computers, theatrical performances, movies,
warm weather and when I get an chance, I like to read. I strayed away for

Friend Hi I am writing for my very nice friend, Thihn Thihn Kyi, who does
not have access to a computer/Internet at this time. Thihn Thihn is from
Burma and sometimes feels very isolated and lonely in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,

I'm a 43 year old man from Kuopio,
Finland. 23 years ago I joined the local SDA church. For long periods I've
been a relatively passive member. Attended all of the NeXt Millennium seminars
here & enjoyed them. The 100+ members have often been elderly ladies
or middle-aged couples. I'm kind of shy, it's been hard to make friends,
besides I haven't always been very interested. I've never been married.
My hobbies include travelling (I've been to over 60 countries, the Soviet
Union alone for 30 times, the U.S.A. for eight times, etc.), nature, topical
& nature documentaries, news, the Internet & walking & hiking.
I'm fluent in Finnish, English, & Swedish. My German, French, &
Russian are so so. I'm 6ft 2 (189 cm), 165 lb., grey green eyes, brown
hair, I wear glasses. My mom & dad are 71 & 70, four sisters, none
of them believers, many belong to the Lutheran State Church, as did I until
age 20. I have studied physics & medicine. I have a mild heart valve
condition called mitral valve prolapse, which probably partly accounts
for the chronic anxiety, that has kept me from finishing my studies. I
have never had a mental illness. I'd be interested to exchange e-mail with
single or widowed SDA ladies up to my age. Besides getting to know another
person I wish to strengthen my Christian experience.

63 years old and I live in Southern California right now, though my daughter,

My name is Sarah Kelly. I would
love to make friends. Maybe because I just recently moved from New York
(I used to work at the Greater New York Conference of SDA), and hardly
know people around here. In New York, I used to be the administrative assistant
for the president and assistant to the French Ministries Co-ordinator.
Also was the pianist, clerk, and secretary for my church, and had an international

Greetings. I am a 53 year old Adventist
female that has been very actively involved in my church since I was a
youth. Jesus is my "Forever Friend!" I live in Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA.
My 23 year marriage is coming to an end because within the past year my
husband has become abusive. I do not understand why our world has suddenly
fallen apart. Divorce is such a negative word to me, but it is necessary
for me to protect myself and my three minor (under 18 years of age) children.
I know God cares and is with me, but this whole situation is shaking the
very foundation of my beliefs. It is also challenging many people in our
church, because my husband and I gave the impression of being the "ideal"
couple. Daily I claim many of His promises, but it is still very difficult
emotionally to work through each day. I am looking for an Adventist woman
or women to visit with about domestic abuse, and how they have survived.

Valerie Robins
My name is Valerie and I am a 38
year old divorced mom of 2 great kids. I live in Toppenish, WA and am very
active in my small church. At last count (hopefully I haven't forgotten
any of them), my official & unofficial offices are: Junior Leader,
Lay Advisory, Church Board member, church pianist/organist, pastoral secretary,
special music coordinator/singer. I can't think of any more right
now. I have been looking for a site where I can chat/write to other single
Adventists. There is very little out there. Whether or not Jesus has another
person out there for me is in His hands. He knows what I need. I can only
pray, let Him know what I want and then sit back to see where He will lead
me. Currently I am not working as I am partially blind. My blindness started
about 10 years ago and up until the end of August 1998 I have been able
to work. The blindness will never leave me completely blind, but is gradually
taking over more and more of my sight. I have applied for disability but
that will take awhile to get through all the red tape attached to it. God
has been very good to me even through all the hard times. Since I have
stopped working, I have started studying with a neighbour who has been
going to church with me. I have been telling the Lord for many years that
"I could never give Bible studies." Guess what?! He seems to think differently.
I also will be able to take the 1st steps towards recording my singing.
If that is the direction He wishes me to go, God will continue to open
the doors for me. Our church is currently putting on a Spiritual Revival
seminar and I am the featured vocalist every night. Pray that we will have
some permanent commitments for God when we are finished. Must go as the

My name is Margaret Kalumba Kamangala,
aged 39 years, Married to a non Adventist. The Lord has blessed us with
three sons and one daughter between the ages of 8 - 16. I am a Secretary
working for Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) in Zambia.
I love travelling, reading, preaching and witnessing. I also like visiting

Carrol Grady
My name is Carrol Grady. I am 62,
recently retired as a secretary in Washington Conference. My husband is
a minister and currently the conference trust officer. We have three grown
sons: Bruce, David and Paul. We spent 15 years in Singapore as missionaries,
1970-1985. I love music, quilting and reading. I have filled nearly every
church position, including elder. Currently I am choir pianist. Much of
my time over the past four years has been devoted to a ministry for Adventist
families of gays and lesbians. I wrote a book, published by PPPA in 1985--My
Son, Beloved Stranger, about our family's experience in adjusting to the
knowledge that our youngest son is gay. For the past three years I have
