10,000 Youth Bibles Distributed in Brazil
Seventh-day Adventist youth leaders in Brazil have distributed a 3.5-ton shipment from the Brazilian Bible Society of a special youth-oriented translation of the Bible. The new Jovem Amigo version of the Bible is written in everyday language, making it easier for young people to read and share with their friends, said church leaders at the June 1 launch of the project in Sao Paulo.

Along with the special edition, leaders also distributed a book giving biblical responses to some 150 issues confronting young people today, including abortion, friendship, astrology, drugs, sports, homosexuality, leadership, sin, peer pressure, sex, and temptation. Materials also include five guides for reading the Bible in one year, and 20 different Bible studies.

Leaders have presented 10,000 of the special packages to young people at seminars, conferences, leadership courses, rallies, and other events.

"Whatever is true, whatever is respectable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there be any virtue or of be any praise, think on these things."
