Why Doesn't God Answer my Prayers?

The following Scriptures assure us that God WILL give us what we ask for:

Matthew 7:7

John 14:12-14

John 15:7 J

John15:16

Matthew21:22

Psalm37:4

Yet, here are some reasons why he DOESN'T!

1 His timing is different from ours.

Galatians4:4

2. Our request might be selfish

James4:2

3. It may not be His Will to give us that particular thing

1 John 5: 14:15

4. Ignorance - We might be asking for the wrong thing

Romans8 :26

5. God may actually have Something Better in mind for us!

Ephesians3:20 Something that we have not even thought of

Isaiah57:1 (Sometimes death is preferable to life)

6. God has different methods of answering prayers

James 5: 14-15 God has promised to ‘raise a person up’ after he is anointed, but He has three ways to do this:

A. Immediately, as a miracle

B. Gradually, under the care of a physician

C. In the first resurrection, at the second coming of Jesus

7. God gives strength, instead of removing the burden

2 Corinthians 12:7:8 At times it is better to have strength to bear the pain, than it is to have the pain entirely removed

8. Perhaps we don’t really want it

Matthew 20 18-24 James and John did not know what they were saying

Matthew 15:22-27 Sometimes we must persevere in order to show that

we do want it!

9. We may have misinterpreted the promise

Matthew 18:19 is talking about church discipline - Let's find out what God is really promising, before we do something rash

10. Surrender to the Lord’s will

Psalm 37:4 It is only those who are in accordance with God’s will, that are able to receive that which they desire

Often, if we do not DEMAND something we are more likely to receive it.
