Nita Steffens was born on the island of Trinidad, just off the country of Venezuela in South America. Although Trinidad was a British island, her parents - Glenn & Ethel Coon - named her Juanita, the Spanish for 'Joanne' which means 'God's gracious gift.. However, now everyone knows here by her nickname ‘Nita’

In 1977 she and her husband Charles moved to Ooltewah TN, a few miles from Southern Adventist University at Collegedale. Charles accepted a job as a system analyst with Blue Cross, and Nita completed her requirements to become an LPN. During this time, her son Randy completed the Medical course. Her daughter Rita has recently passed her state board examination as a registered nurse.

In 1987 Nita took her parents into her home, after her father suffered a severe stroke while conducting ABC seminars in Florida. Since their death, she continues to handle orders for his books and audio cassettes.
